We are a Catholic School dedicated to the task of creating an atmosphere permeated by the Gospel spirit of freedom and love. In our community we - staff, students and parents are challenged to respond to the invitation of Christ, to be His followers. In response to the needs of the Catholic community of Branxton, the first Catholic School was established in 1886 by Sisters of Mercy Singleton Congregation.  It would be intriguing to know what the five Sisters of Mercy were thinking and dreaming when they made their way, firstly from Ireland to Australia, and eventually from Singleton, along a dusty road surrounded by Australian native flora and fauna snuggled among the morning frost of the Hunter Valley, to these places called Branxton and Greta. These pioneers established learning environments that would endure droughts, floods, bush fires, world wars, depressions and changing educational challenges to provide a lasting impact upon these communities and our Diocese. We can recall with gratitude the faith and dedication of the pioneer priests, sisters, teachers and parents of the Catholic community who laboured tirelessly to establish the Faith and Christian traditions we express and value today. St Brigid's was the Primary School for the Greta/Branxton Parish while St Mary's at Greta was the Infants’ School.  Both closed in Term 4 2011.

2011 saw a period of transformation and transition; a year of hard work and vision; a time of change and new beginnings. We witnessed the evolution of a dream many have held close for a long time – the completion of a new K-6 Catholic Primary School for our community. The opening of Rosary Park Catholic School in Term 4 was a pinnacle in the year that was 2011.

The ultimate aim of our school is to provide a Catholic Christian Education that will enable the development of the whole child. Rosary Park uses the Diocesan Religious Education Program and provide opportunities to attend Mass, Liturgies and participate in daily prayer. We guide the individual towards a full Christian living through recognisable stages of moral, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, physical, social and cultural development. We strive to provide an environment based on values of justice, happiness, security and creativity.

We endeavour to pursue excellence in all fields of school education in accordance with each students' gifts and capabilities. Our curriculum encompasses the sum total of all experiences which take place within the school, with the formalised curriculum covering all Key Learning Areas following The Board of Studies syllabus documents. The school has benefited greatly with the implementation of The State Action Plan in 2012, with the student's learning in Literacy and Numeracy being greatly enhance. Our data in that time indicates a huge growth in all the children's learning, as well as model that has lead to professional learning for the staff which has greatly improved the Literacy and Numeracy within the school. Due to the success of the implemented educational practices and programs over the last five years, the school is no longer part of The State Action Plan but will continue to build on the on the success achieved while on the Program.

Our school is lucky to have a supportive parent community and offers of assistance are plentiful. Their continued participation is encouraged and is essential to the development of Rosary Park.
